A MTV anunciou na terça-feira, dia 3 de agosto, os indicados ao VMA 2010. A premiação acontece dia 12 de setembro, domingo, em Los Angeles, e terá a transmissão ao vivo da MTV Brasil, a partir das 22h.
Lady Gaga é a grande campeã de indicações: 13 no total, incluindo Melhor Clipe Pop, Melhor Clipe Feminino e Melhor Clipe de Dance Music, todas com o hit “Bad Romance”. A cantora agora é a recordista de indicações num único VMA e a primeira artista mulher a concorrer com dois vídeos diferentes na categoria Melhor Clipe do Ano. Além de “Bad Romance”, ela pode ganhar com “Telephone”, que tem a participação de Beyoncé.
No embalo do sucesso do disco novo, Eminem é o artista masculino com maior número de indicações. Está concorrendo em oito categorias com “Not Afraid”. Entre as categorias concorridas estão Melhor Clipe Masculino e Melhor Clipe do Ano.
Algumas bandas e cantores tem a honra de pela primeira vez estar entre os finalistas do VMA. Ke$ha, B.o.B, Justin Bieber e Florence + The Machine estarão no Nokia Theater, em Los Angeles, esperando levar o Astronauta de Prata.
